Description
The Johnson Brothers Motor Company has a long list of accomplishments in aviation and boating. The company started with an inboard 2-cycle marine engine in 1903 and showcased their first outboard motor at the New York Boat Show in 1922. Six pre-production motors are believed to have been produced, full-fledged production began with serial number 507. Their success came from being dependable, light, easily attachable, and their ability to be raised in shallow water. Though multiple companies acquired them over the years, their engines continued to be sold under the Johnson brand until 2007.
