Small Drum

Materials
The basic construction is very similar in most tribes: a wooden frame or a carved and hollowed-out log, with rawhide buckskin or elk skin, stretched out across the opening by sinew thongs.

Description
Large double-sided skin drums are characteristic of the Plains tribes. They are used for ceremonial songs during initiations, social dances, or as inspiration. This drum is smaller than the traditional two-to-four foot drum, so additional research is needed.
