Quartz

Material
This colorless quartz can also be called rock crystal. The mineral can take on the characteristic look of ice crystals, but it is not derived from supercooled ice as some ancient Greeks believed. Quartz crystals are typically intergrown together and are attached together at one end to the enclosing rock.

Description
Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth’s crust. When it is found in nature it points to a “mature” rock formation because the mineral can endure heavy weathering. Naturally occurring quartz is the most commonly used mineral in the making of jewelry and hard stone carvings. While some prized “pure” Quartz does occur from mining, the form used in electronics is typically synthesized in a lab setting. Quartz is thought to amplify healing energy and is particularly effective for chronic fatigue, arthritis, bone injuries, depression, diabetes, fibromyalgia and intestinal troubles.
